Kool & the Gang’s sole surviving founding member says his band relishes Rock Hall honor

You may know Kool & the Gang for its R&B and disco hits — “Celebration,” “Jungle Boogie,” “Ladies Night,” to name a few — but the group has shared stages with the likes of Van Halen, Foreigner, Rod Stewart, Elton John and more. And it’s worked. So Robert “Kool” Bell, the band’s sole surviving founding member, is ready to put his band in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this week.
